Design a Plate is 100% Australian owned and operated. Our business started in 2007 with the launch of a personalised plate product.
In 2011 we expanded our business to be able to offer a picture plate fundraising product to schools, kinders, and groups – with children creating their own artwork as plate designs. We call this division: Design a Plate Kids. We think kids are amazing artists and each week we delight in the artworks we see.
Over time, the number of enquiries we received from restaurants and promotional companies began to increase. These businesses were looking for quality melamine dinnerware, custom made with their logo or artwork.
The cost of manufacturing in Australia was too high to be viable for high volume orders so the idea was put on hold. A few months later, synchronicity provided an opportunity for us to develop a relationship with a company in Indonesia who was looking for ways expand its business internationally.
Years later, we collaborate across the seas, providing a personal service to companies, large and small.
